Gripple Micro-Community

Our visit to Gripple was beneficial in many ways but I would like to focus on the atmosphere of the space. What I found really interesting about it was the arrangement of the office and factory spaces and the way these were linked together. Both departments we visited had a similar approach: a large open space office space with individual desks for each employee and a large open space factory area. These were separated by walls with large internal windows in order to maintain a connection between the two. This created a blending of the industrial and office services provided and a friendly atmosphere between the employees of both sections, as they were not treated as individual departments, but rather a large team. The example of this micro-community and cooperation seen at Gripple is what I am hoping to achieve in my project at a larger scale.
