Information has been gathered from my photos and google maps. Gutter pipes, drains and manhole covers have been plotted. I have yet to find a map of Yorkshire Water utilities (which serves Sheffield), so I have connected the manhole covers, road-side drains and gutter pipe separately. The river has been included as a lot of the pipe work located along the river edge deposits straight into the river.

Below is an alternative diagram to the one above, with colours indicating: manhole covers (dark blue), gutter pipes (cyan) and road drains (teal). You will notice a ‘series’ of teal dots occur, typically in a row of four, quite often. They are drains located under the front window of a terraced house – which the majority of the houses in the area studied have got.
