A very rough initial thought on how an interruption of the surrounding solids could happen if the ‘unlikely host’ interventions were to challenge the restrictions. I don’t know if evidence of the bricks that used to be there would be left (their outlines) or if an actual need and precise cut through the solid would happen. This is a starter in need of more exploration, as these types of details will be key. It is inspired by one of my first photos taken on site in my post ‘pipes’ where plumbing work has broken through a brick wall in a very unprecise way. However, in this case, I would look to the ideas generated by the observational skills of the Gridders and the dedication of the Dancers to produce a detail such as this in a more delicate way which might even try to ‘glamorize’ the interuption in a way that can be learned from artist Linda Brothwell and her work on ‘Acts of Care’ (http://www.lindabrothwell.com/ ).
