I have been thinking about and exploring what the Gridders and Dancers could be saying about design. Gridders and the Dull Mens Club make a point of celebrating the ordinary, expressing the importance of being observant, paying attention to detail and seeing in things others normally miss. The dancers need support from the space that they dance in. As dancers they understand the importance of support, discipline, control, strength, precision and composition. Twisting, contracting and stretching as they need to. I wondered if an intervention can twist to fit and make space in the normally ignored and unlikely places. Through rough 3D sketches I begin to ‘test’ pockets of spaces I have walked through, ones that I feel would normally be unlikely choices as hosts.
